Modern Mississauga presents Ask The City - How do I report a dead tree and have it replaced?

Modern Mississauga and the City of Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Ask the City.”

We’ll share relevant information here and answer your questions about our city.

Today’s question is about how to report a dead tree and have it replaced.

How do I report a dead tree and have it replaced?

To report a dead tree on City property, call 3-1-1 or fill out an online form.

During a storm, Forestry staff respond to calls from residents and emergency services. Top priorities are trees that are blocking main roads or trees that may have fallen on buildings.

When City staff remove a dead tree on public property, a new tree will be replanted in a location determined by Forestry.

If the tree is on private property, you can contact a contractor or arborist for removal. Homeowners, business owners and developers wishing to remove trees from a private property must follow the Private Tree Protection By-law.

If you are removing three or more trees on your private property, you need a permit.

For more information, click here or call 3-1-1.
