Windmill Music presents The American Songbook – Music of the 40’s & 50’s
/Get ready to be transported back in time with Windmill Music’s upcoming cabaret, The American Songbook – Music of the 40’s & 50’s. Mississauga’s celebrated group of professional musicians are set to interpret the great "American Standards", commonly known as the most important and influential popular songs and jazz standards from the early 20th century.
The American Songbook – Music of the 40’s & 50’s will be presented on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 8 p.m. at the Great Hall located at 84 South Service Rd, Mississauga. Showcasing 10 professional vocalists from the Mississauga area, American Songbook will delight audiences with its high-caliber musicianship and authentic cabaret experience complete with complementary snacks, candlelight and cash bar.
"Our Windmill crooners and divas perform with incredible timing and sensitivity,” explains Artistic Director Brian Pritchard. “For two evenings, Windmill is delighted to perform sentimental music from the 40' and 50's straight out of the American Songbook. The music is eternally popular and I know you love those Windmill voices. Add to this a quintet of great instrumentalists and you know the show will thrill and shine and send you home with a smile.”
Featured performers include Heidi Cyfko, Sarah DaCunha, Diana Rimac, Emily Falls, Heather Christine, Raylin Marcotte, Jason Hales, Blair Barnsdale, Malakai Viera and John Stephen. The show will be guided by Musical Director Jennifer Tung.
