The absolute importance of starting today

"I’ll start saving money next pay check."
"Exercise can wait until my life calms down."
“I’ll make myself a priority when my kids go high school”

You’d be surprised at the amount of progress you’ll make in life if you stop waiting for the ‘right moment’ to do something and just do it instead.

The greatest fear happens in the moment leading up to something. Once you’ve started you’ll notice the fear often disappears. It’s never as bad as you’ve made it out to be in your head.

So often we sit stagnant, afraid to get started… listening to all of our brain’s valid and compelling reasons also to why now not a good time… the reality is is now is a perfect time.

In fact now is THE perfect time.

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is today

Ask anyone who’s started something… even if they failed, they will rarely regret the act of starting. In fact one of the things people often do regret the most is waiting so long to get started.

It won’t be easy.
It won’t be perfect.
It won’t be like the movies.
It won’t be like social media.

There will be bumps in the road. It will be a road less traveled.

You might stop a few times. You might get overwhelmed. You might have to find the courage to start again.  But it will be a start. It will be your start. It won't be like anyone else's start. And starting is all that’s keeping you from getting that thing, your thing, whatever that is for you.

There’s a Chinese proverb that goes something like “The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is today.”

Stop putting off the things that you want to do. Even if you can’t do them at what you feel is 100% just yet. Even if they scare you. (If they scare you that's probably a sign it's something you should be doing but that's a whole different discussion all together)

Just start.
Today.
You gotta start with a little so you can have a lot.
