The Open Gallery is a mobile pop-up and gallery based out of Mississauga, Ontario founded by Hibah Mian. She works with her partners to showcase and provide a platform for emerging and young artists to step out and publicize the deep-rooted creativity and hidden talent they carry. The OG seeks to consistently recognize new generation artists as an essential part to everyone's life and integral to healthy thriving communities. Being an artist herself, Mian is committed to a providing a platform of experimental art and associated cultural practices. She aims to build an arts movement that welcomes a dialogue of critical issues relevant to contemporary art through exhibitions, performances and more. “We find spaces, we set a date, we put out a call and we curate. From artist to artist: we want you to be seen, be heard and be visible. We are a small team of artists that work together to create a cool space for networking and collaboration within the community!” says Mian as she continues to connect local creatives throughout the GTA in DIY spaces and established galleries throughout the city.
