Modern Travel - The Best Things to do in Winter in the Mont Tremblant Region

With Canadian travel experiencing a significant increase this year, make your winter wonderful by immersing yourself in the Mont Tremblant region of Quebec.
I’ve been here a few times already but this was my first winter adventure and I’ll certainly be returning.
Here’s how to enjoy the Mont Tremblant region with friends, family or on a solo trip.

The signature winter activity in Mont Tremblant is skiing, and with good reason. At Tremblant Resort, there are 102 ski trails spread across four distinctive sides all linked to the 360° summit and accessibility is strong here with plenty of “green level” beginner runs to the expert “black diamond” offerings.
Impressively, you can take the panoramic gondola to the top of the mountain and there are beginner options, making it very inclusive for all levels of experience.
There’s also an option to take the chair lift halfway up the mountain as well. And yes, there’s a bunny hill for those learning or in my case, needed a refresher on regaining my “ski legs.”
It can look intimidating at first glance with long lines but those lines move very quickly to maximize your time standing opposed to sitting.
The ski/snowboard rental process is easy and conveniently located at the base of the hill. The gear is in solid shape and of good quality because regardless of experience level, safety comes first.

Outdoor skating is another signature aspect of winter in Tremblant Resort. They’ve got one and between the upbeat music, lights at night and best of all, free rentals, you’re all set.
There’s also an outdoor, enclosed fireplace to complete this wonderful winter activity.

25 minutes from Mont Tremblant in Mont-Blanc is the majestic Sentier des cimes Laurentides, a majestic 40-meter-high structure offering panoramic views. This treetop wooden walkway is all about accessibility as there’s an elevator from the main building to bring you to the walkway.
The incline is only six degrees as you move up the spiral path, making it easy on the knees.
At the top, there’s a reinforced net that you can walk across or lay down in for a memorable experience. Plus, the views you’ll enjoy are unmatched.

Mont-Tremblant National Park, housed in Lac-Supérieur, is the ideal location for a snowshoe hike and the team at D-Tour Outdoor Experiences made sure it was terrific. The packed lunch was a welcome reward at the end of our hike.
In the Visitors Centre, there’s plenty of information, including a 3D map of the area for scale.

Our advanced three-kilometre roundtrip hike took us up a mountainside for wonderful views and included a cup of hot tea along the way. There are also beginner and intermediate trail options to suit your desired level of activity during your visit.
With D-Tour, snowshoe rentals and an expert guide are part of the package.
There’s also a network of cross-country ski trails across the park if that’s your thing.
Know that there’s little to no cell signal in the park aside from the free wi-fi at the Visitors Centre, so if there’s someone you’re in contact with often, let them know you’ll be soaking up nature for a few hours.

On the same road as Mont-Tremblant National Park is a relatively new spot called Farouche Tremblant, a cafe with seven A-frame rental cabins that offers winter activities. Go for a hike, take an e-fatbike, go snow shoeing and enjoy the area on the banks of the Devil’s River.

Want to go for an ATV adventure in the woods? Of course you do! Based out of Labelle, a mere 30 minutes outside of Mont Tremblant, is where the experience begins. A capable, rugged and powerful  Kawasaki Teryx 800cc will keep you in motion and with the flaps deployed, you’re safe from the elements. Each machine holds up to four people and the 15 km roundtrip spans 90 minutes. The scenery in the northern edge of Mont-Tremblant National Park will keep everyone but the driver capturing pictures and video. There’s a picturesque warming station approximately halfway through the journey.
Helmets and a detailed briefing are included to make sure you’re safe. Plus, the meaty tires kept us in motion the entire journey and our top-notch professional guide made for a perfect afternoon.
Note that the machine is fairly loud so if you have sensitivity to loud sounds, bring earplugs.

Of the dozens of dining destinations available in Tremblant Resort, here’s where I went and highly recommend:

La Forge Bistro-Bar and Grill

A premiere two-level restaurant has steak, poutine, sizeable salads, sandwiches and more on their premium yet approachable menu. It’s in the heart of Tremblant pedestrian village and if you’re into heated winter patio dining, they offer that. Best of all, the patio seats are in the shape of chair lifts!

La Savoie

Fondue, fondue, fondue! I’ve been here before and happily went again because the food is splendid, the service superb and the healthy portion sizes will make sure you leave satisfied.
There’s an oil, broth and cheese fondue to pick from, along with chocolate and fruit fondue for dessert. Also in the pedstrian village, it’s worth going for the experience. Bonus points of you opt for the raclette.

Bullseye - Saloon & Grillades

This was a “I want wings” second dinner selection in the pedestrian village and this place hit the spot and then some! This Western-themed restaurant has a good vibe, just enough menu items without being overwhelming and the wings are quite good.

Go Grocery Shopping
Our hotel, which I’ll get into below, had a kitchen and with a grocery store in the village, a quick trip there took care of breakfasts and some lunches. I went simple with eggs and hash browns and know that the grocery store is well-stocked with a strong variety of items.

If you’re asking “what’s the best hotel in Tremblant Resort?” then I’ve got an answer for you; Sommet des Neiges. It’s literally steps from the ski rentals, a few more steps from the gondolas and chairlifts for skiing, has underground parking and top-notch customer service. The room I stayed in was adorned with a super-comfy King-sized bed, balcony, gas fireplace, aforementioned kitchen and a wonderful couch, which I wish I had at home.
Between the location and amenities, this is my new favourite hotel in Mont Tremblant.
The furthest I walked was from the hotel to the outdoor skating rink, which was a whopping six minutes.

Speaking of walking, spend some time exploring the pedestrian village and experiencing the excitement of the village both during the day and at night.
This special part of Canada has so much to offer and caters to variety of travellers, both the action-seekers and those who prefer a slower, relaxed pace.

Finally, a touch on the car I drove from Mississauga to Tremblant, the 2025 Toyota Corolla Hybrid All-Wheel Drive. One of Canada’s most popular cars, this 1,500+ km journey was made better with the stability of the Corolla, more so with the high-quality winter tires.

A smooth drive, miserly fuel consumption, comfortable seats, modern technology and several standard active safety systems all made this an ideal travelling companion.
